NYE 2009 - Africa

Off on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure to Africa! A week in Egypt to see Luxor, Cairo, the Pyramids, and Alexandria. From there, we're off on a week-long safari through the Serengeti, and then a week to wind down on the beaches of Zanzibar. We even worked in a few hours in Paris to meet up with Kobb.
Destinations:
Luxor, Egypt. Major sights include the Valley of the Kings, Luxor Temple, Karnak Temple, Deir el-Bahri, and Colossi of Memnon.
The Pyramids of Giza! Need I say more?
Took a train ride to Alexandria to catch my first glimpse of the Mediterranean, see some ancient Roman ruins, and visit the Bibliotheca Alexandria.
Safari though Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti National Park.
A week on the beach in Zanzibar, Tanzania. Nothing beats relaxing on the beach with a cold drink and a good book!
Had a 7-hour stopover in Paris on the way back from our adventure so we met up with Corwin and noshed on some traditional Parisian fare.
